Tour Description

Discover the creative genius of of Barcelona’s most renowned architect, Antoni Gaudí, as you explore two of his most famous Modernist masterworks, Casa Milà and Casa  Battló. Both homes were originally commissioned by wealthy Barcelona families at the turn of the 20th century, the Milà and Batlló families respectively, and are a prime example of Gaudí’s eclectic style. Our tour offers the spectacular opportunity to explore these intricate and impressive works with an expert guide, and appreciate the creativity and extraordinary vision that made Antoni Gaudí a household name.

Our day begins at Casa Batlló, a tile-adorned facade standing tall and colorful on Barcelona’s opulent Passeig de Gràcia. This residence-turned-museum features countless notable architectural gems, such as ornate skylights shaped like tortoise shells. Gaudí’s inspiration as almost always traced back to nature, and the gorgeous first room, with it’s massive bay windows and spiraling ceiling are no exception. Your guide will lead you through the various points of interest on each unique floor before the tour culminates on the building’s famous roof terrace. Enjoy a panoramic view of downtown Barcelona while marveling at the famous ‘Dragon’s Back’, a wall of tiles that sits atop the facade of Casa Batlló like an elaborate, serpentine crown.

Just when you think you know Gaudí, our tour continues a few blocks away with a guided walk-through of the Casa Milà, also known as La Pedrera (The Quarry). Completed in 1910, this spectacular house didn’t open to the public until 1987.  Inside, you will view an apartment that has been recreated in the style of a typical wealthy residence from the early 1900s — from furniture and artwork to sewing machines and children’s toys. The tour will also lead you to the uniquely-shaped attic, which has been turned into an exhibit on Gaudí, and the stunning rooftop terrace with its many towering chimneys.
