Tour Description

If you’re staying in Rome, don’t miss out on this opportunity to see the beauty of the birthplace of the Renaissance: Florence. With so much incredible art, history and architecture, seeing all that Florence has to offer in one day can be a challenge. Luckily, we’ve created the perfect full day trip to Florence from Rome that gives you to chance to see it all!

Travel in comfort by high speed rail to Florence station, where you will meet your local guide and make your way to the Accademia Gallery for the first stop on your tour.

Our Skip the Line access to the Accademia Gallery provides you with the opportunity to jump the line and marvel at Michelangelo’s 17ft marble masterpiece, David along with other incredible works like his statues of Slaves.

Your expert guide will then lead you to the astounding Florence Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, from where Brunelleschi’s dome dominates the skyline of Florence and never ceases to impress. Gaze at the Baptistry Doors by Ghiberti, coined the “Gates of Paradise” by Michelangelo and stop for a photo or two in front of the colorful marble exterior. Enter the church to learn about the history of this amazing structure and the architectural innovations that led to its completion. Please note, sometimes due to long lines during peak times, it may not be possible to visit inside the Duomo on the guided portion of your tour. In this case, the guide will provide you insights and photo opportunities from the outside and you’ll have time to return during your free time.

Throughout this 3-hour guided walking tour, you will learn about the fascinating history of Florence as you visit the civic and political center of the Renaissance. You will view its famous statues and glorious fountains as you make your way towards the Uffizi Gallery and the Medieval Palazzo Vecchio.

Rub the nose of the legendary boar, “il Porcellino” to ensure a return to Florence and visit Piazza della Repubblica, once the Ancient Forum, now a popular meeting place for famous writers, artists and locals.

After your tour, your guide will be available to offer recommendations of what to do for your 5 hours of free time in the city. Enjoy a delicious local meal in what is one of the world’s most renowned destinations for food and wine or stroll through Florence’s famous leather markets to pick up an authentic souvenir. You will also have plenty of time to grab a gelato or espresso and wander the beautiful, winding streets of the city or relax in one of its famous piazzas before your return to Rome by high speed rail.
