Tour Description

It’s not until you first lay eyes of the Sagrada Família that you truly appreciate its massive scale and myriad, minute details. With tall, spires that seem to defy gravity, countless figures from both the human and natural world, the facades of Gaudí’s most ambitious project impressive and astound over 3 million visitors per year. Today, it’s the most visited building in Spain. Your English-speaking local guide, an expert in all things Gaudí, will share insider stories and anecdotes throughout your tour, truly bringing this iconic building to life.

Discover More with our Expert Guides

Begun in 1882, after more than 100 years of tireless work the church is still under construction, though it’s easy to understand why. Our guide will share tales of Gaudí’s love affair with his final work, how he considered the project his holy mission, and the great personal sacrifices he made to ensure its completion. Sadly, he would not live to see it finished. Such was the complexity of the design that despite taking on the project at 31 years of age, Gaudí only lived to see the completion of one facade, one tower, the apse, and the crypt.

Save Time with Skip the Line

Our trademark Skip the Line access will whisk you past the long entrance lines and straight into the heart of the Basilica. You’ll feel as though you have stepped into an alternate universe. Step through a heavy set of doors covered in hand-carved vines and find yourself beneath rows and rows of tree-like pillars that seem to reach up all the way to the heavens.

Travel to Park Güell in Luxury

After having marveled at this unique monument, we catch our private, air-conditioned bus transfer to Park Güell, another of Gaudí’s most renowned works, built on the slopes of the Carmel Hill for the Güell family between 1900 and 1914. Like our visit to Sagrada Família, the long lines here are of no concern, as our tickets are pre-booked allowing us immediate access to the most famous and impressive part of the park, the “monumental zone.”

Learn About the History of Park Güell

The architectural design of Park Güell is perhaps the truest testament to Gaudí's love of nature. The wave-like walls of stone and cement seem to grow up from the ground. Just like the plants that surround them, and the vibrant colors of his signature “trencadís” tile mosaics cover the walls, ceilings, benches, and more, with the famous lizard/dragon figure, known as “El Drac”, serving as the centerpiece of the park’s entrance and a must-have photo opportunity.

Hear about this history and details of this wondrous outdoor work of art from your guide, then enjoy an hour of free time to relax and take in the forms, colors, and spectacular panoramic view of Barcelona before your transfer back to the city center.
