Tour Description

If you’re staying in Rome, don’t miss out on the beauty of the birthplace of the Renaissance: Florence. With so much incredible art, history, and architecture, seeing all that Florence has to offer in one day can be a challenge. Luckily, we’ve created the perfect day trip to Florence from Rome that gives you to chance to see it all!

Travel in comfort by high-speed rail to Florence train station, where you'll meet your guide and make your way to the Accademia Gallery for the first stop on your 3-hour guided tour.

Our Skip the Line Access to the Accademia Gallery provides you with the opportunity to gain instant access to the gallery to marvel at Michelangelo’s 17ft marble masterpiece, David, along with a selection of other incredible works.

Your expert guide will then lead you to the Florence Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, from where Brunelleschi’s dome dominates the skyline of Florence, never ceasing to impress. Gaze at the Baptistry Doors by Ghiberti, coined the “Gates of Paradise” by Michelangelo, and take a memorable photo of the colorful marble exterior.

Entry to the Duomo is free, and you can visit independently during your free time if you wish. Your guide will also have provided a full explanation of the interior and exterior features from outside.

Throughout this 3-hour guided walking tour, you will learn about the fascinating history of Florence as you visit the civic and political center of the Renaissance. You will view its famous statues and glorious fountains as you make your way towards the Uffizi Gallery and the Medieval Palazzo Vecchio.

Rub the nose of the legendary boar, “Il Porcellino” to ensure a return to Florence and visit Piazza della Repubblica, once the Ancient Forum, now a popular meeting place for famous writers, artists, and locals.

After your tour, your guide will be available to offer recommendations of what to do for your 5 hours of free time in the city. Enjoy a delicious local meal in what is one of the world’s most renowned food and wine destinations, or stroll through Florence’s famous leather markets to pick up an authentic souvenir. You will also have plenty of time to grab a gelato or espresso and wander the beautiful, winding streets of the city, or relax in one of its famous piazzas before your return to Rome by high-speed rail.
