Tour Description

We’ve changed things up a little, to truly experience the best of Naples you need to have the freedom to experience this city’s incredible energy. Rather than tour after tour we’ve planned your trip so that you get the best of both worlds.

Often over shadowed by Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii, Naples is an incredible real Italian city. In fact, when you think of quintessential Italy you’re really thinking about Naples; complete with the narrow streets connected by a laundry line, the honking horns of cars and Vespa’s and people yelling from window to window- Naples oozes Italian charm.

Your day trip will start with a short drive in a luxury coach, while you drive around the base of Mount Vesuvius towards Naples your guide tells you stories of the area, snippets of its history and charms of the culture and the realities of living near an active volcano.
Once you arrive in Naples you’ll enjoy a walking tour around the Centro Storico, Historic Centre. Naples is a city with a long history, ranging all the way back to the Ancient Greeks. We’ll start with the Fountain of Neptune, ironically built by a Catholic Pope, the fountain is one of many depictions around the world of this Pagan god.

You’ll continue to the Castel Nuovo, a structure most iconic to the city. The Castle has a long and colourful history being used as a fortress and royal residence among others. See the San Carlo Theatre, the oldest continuous use theatre in the world. We’ll show you all the important historical buildings and make you walk away with a new love for Neapolitan history. To keep your spirits up your guide will treat you to coffee and a delicious Neapolitan desert called Sfogliatella before you take a walk along the Via Chiaia towards the Castel Del’Ovo.

We’ve made sure you put aside enough time for you to go off and explore the city before you enjoy a relaxing drive back to Sorrento. Armed with your knowledge of the historic centre you can pick and choose where or what you’d like to see more of. If you are looking for the perfect photographs, you’ve met your match in Naples! Everywhere you look there is something to photograph from the crumbling walls to the chaotic streets and the historic structures. You may just like enjoy sitting in the Piazza del Plebiscito basking in the organised chaos energy of the city or discovering more Neapolitan cuisine or heading back down to the Lungomare Promenade. The city is at your fingertips!
