Here we’ve outlined just 6 of our favorite photo spots in the City of Love. Be warned, your camera hand is going to be pretty tired after your sightseeing tour of Paris, because everywhere you look is picture perfect.
1. The Eiffel Tower
Of course, the Eiffel Tower is at the top of our list. This iron mask towers an incredible 300 meters into the sky, making it visible from most vantage points in the city. However, if you really want to get up close and personal with the Iron Lady then explore her multiple tiers and intricate structure from the inside on an Eiffel Tower tour.
If a tour of the Eiffel Tower doesn’t fit into your travel itinerary, then not to worry. You can enjoy a picnic while you get some great shots of this world-famous monument in the Jardins du Trocadéro. Take a step back and view the tower from one of our personal favorite angles, between the rows of apartment at Rue de l’Universite.
2. Le Consulat, Montmartre
Uncover the beauty of an authentic Parisian neighborhood as you explore Montmartre. Combining charming coffee shops with thought-provoking art and unusual architecture; is it any wonder that Montmartre is one if the hippest districts in Paris? And up there with one of the most note-worthy buildings in the area is Le Consulat. Located on Rue Norvins, this delightful café sits on a little land island of its own.
Le Consulat has been around for decades and was a favorite hangout spots for some of history’s most famed artists and writers, including Picasso, Sisley, Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec and Monet. With a guest list like this you know you’ll be in good company as you enjoy your stint of Parisian paradise at this vintage venue.
With a menu to match its traditionally French exterior, this café offers an extensive range of French wines and mouth-watering Parisian dishes. Be sure to drop in for a glass of vino and a bite to eat after your long day capturing images and creating memories.
3. La Maison Rose, Montmartre
Now we’ll continue to another of Picasso’s much-loved cafés in the Montmartre neighborhood, La Maison Rose. If you love perusing Instagram for travel inspiration before your trips, then you not doubt will have stumbled upon this eye-catching pink café before. Its rose-colored exterior with barnhouse green trimmings makes this café the perfect backdrop for your Parisian photoshoot.
Located among the labyrinth of cobbled streets, behind the basilica of Sacré-Coeur, at the corner between Rue de l’Abreuvoir and Rue des Saules, be sure to add La Maison Rose to your walking tour of Paris.
4. Rue Cremieux, Montmartre
Another of Montmartre's hotspots, Rue Cremieux is one of our all-time favorite photo spots in Paris. Back in the day, this cobbled street of colorful townhouses was hidden away in the city’s 12th arrondissement. It was the local’s hidden gem, devoid of tourists. But Instagram put this vibrant laneway on the map. More reminiscent of London’s Portobello or Venice’s island of Burano; Rue Cremieux certainly isn’t a stereotypically Parisian place. It might not be typically French but it sure is beautiful. We recommend perusing this colorful laneway on your tour of Paris. However, be mindful of the residents if you visit – they are bombarded daily with seas of tourists taking over their street.
5. Jardins du Luxembourg
Parks and Paris go hand-in-hand. From Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, Jardins des Tuileries, Jardins du Luxembourg and much more; the city of Paris boasts a wide array of green spaces for you to enjoy. If you’re a fan of Gossip Girl you probably already have Jardins du Luxembourg included on your tour of Paris city but if not, you better add it to your bucket list, stat! Located in the city center’s 6th arrondissement, close to Notre-Dame and the Ile de la Cité, these stunning historic gardens are the perfect spot to embrace your inner Parisian. They were created in 1612, under the instructions of Marie de Medicis and stretch across an amazing 32 hectares. With symmetrical lawns, beautiful flower arrangements, and iconic green iron chairs; Jardins du Luxembourg is one of Paris' most insta worthy parks.
6. The Louvre
This world-famous gallery it a must see while in Paris. There are a whole host of incredible Louvre tours promising to take you inside the art world’s most-loved museum to showcase the magnificent masterpieces it has on exhibit. While we recommend taking a tour of the Louvre, we understand that art isn’t everyone’s thing. Whether you’re an art enthusiastic or a memory collector we still think exploring the Louvre from outside is worth adding to your tour of Paris city. With contrasting architectural forms, from its classical façade to its modern glass pyramid; the Louvre Museum is one of the most popular photo spots in the city.
