Don’t just see the Louvre Museum, really experience it with our Semi-Private Louvre Tours. We follow a carefully planned route to show you the very best of the Louvre collection, from big name masterpieces like the Mona Lisa to works by less famous artists that will steal your heart.
Travelling with an expert, English-speaking guide in groups of only 12 people or fewer, your tour will be intimate and your guide easy to interact with. As they lead you through the collection they’ll tell you the stories that bring the artworks to life. You’ll learn about the numerous theories regarding who da Vinci’s ‘Mona Lisa’ really was. At Gericault’s ‘Raft of Medusa’ you’ll hear about the newspaper story it was based on, which told of a crew stranded on a raft who eventually resorted to cannibalism. You’ll learn about the French Revolution as depicted by the great artists of France and even learn a little Flemish history along the way!
We’ve carefully designed our Louvre tour route to visit all the most important works of the Louvre Museum. We’ll see as the ‘Mona Lisa’, Canova’s ‘Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss’, Delacroix’s ‘Liberty Leading the People’, ‘Venus di Milo’ and the stunning ‘Victory of Samothrace’. We’ll see less famous works along the way and visit some of France’s underappreciated geniuses. Of course we’ll make time to explore the Louvre as a royal palace too, visiting the Napoleon apartments and seeing some of the collections stunning crowns and jewels.
