No trip to Italy is complete without seeing what the tragic city of Pompeii reveals about ancient life. However, few can fit it in without transport. Our relaxing day trip will take you on a climate-controlled bus on the Highway of the Sun to discover the south of Italy.
Skip the Lines into the tragic city of Pompeii
From start to finish you’ll have an English-speaking tour leader with you who is an expert in this region of Italy. In this acclaimed UNESCO World Heritage Site, your Tour Leaders will deal with the lines and the entrance tickets while you take in your first view of the half-buried city encased in rubble and ash.
After skipping the lines you’ll explore the paved streets that have been preserved for 1500 years under 20ft of volcanic ash. Unlike a museum, you’ll be able to enter the homes, baths, food stores and outdoor theaters which have preserved so much of ancient life.
Hike to the crater of Mt. Vesuvius or enjoy the city of Naples
After exploring Pompeii the coach will carry you up the slope of Mt. Vesuvius (from April – mid-November), one of the few active volcanoes in Europe. From here, you can take the short walk up to the steaming crater for views of Capri and Sorrento.
Mt. Vesuvius is closed during the winter so your coach will follow the coastline to Naples (from mid-November – March). Here you can explore the iconic Castle Nuovo, the famous art deco Umberto I Gallery, or simply stroll through the monumental Plebiscito Square.
Whatever time of the year you come to Italy, make sure you do not miss out on this essential and relaxing day trip from Rome.
Important Notes
While traveling on the bus, social distancing will be enforced following the Italian government rules, hand sanitizer will be provided and sanitizing measures will be applied before and after the service. All customers will need to wear a mask throughout the bus journey.
