Tour Description

Explore more of the Colosseum than has even been possible, on our Colosseum Belvedere Tour. Enjoy our skip the line access as we take you to areas of this architectural masterpiece that were closed to the general public for decades. With special access to the Colosseum Fourth and Fifth Ring, you can admire the arena from a height of over 40 meters. With a 360° view you’ll get to appreciate the monument in all its glory and get that perfect vacation picture.

See More of the Colosseum

Our extended Colosseum tour also takes you to the third-tier level of the Colosseum, not visited on most Colosseum tours. Of course, we’ll also visit all the general access areas that we go to on our regular Colosseum tours, giving you a well-rounded view of this ancient structure.

Learn About the Roman Forum

After the Colosseum, we’ll head onward to the Roman Forum and the “Via Sacra” or “Sacred Way” which is the main path through the Forum that once sparkled with festivals and triumphant processions. Your guide will take you to the temple that houses the altar where Julius Caesar was cremated, to moneylenders’ shops and the home of the famous Vestal Virgins, bringing these magnificent ruins to life.

Discover the Legendary Palatine Hill

You’ll finish our tour at the beginning, the Palatine Hill, where legend has it Remus and Romulus fought for the right to build their city. Explore some of Rome’s oldest ruins, once decadent palaces, and the incredible Farnese gardens. Here you’ll get some of the most beautiful views in the whole city.

Uncover More with Our Expert Guides

Using headsets will make it easier to hear and interact with your guide, who will be there to cater to your group’s needs and interests, making this tour our most special way to experience the wonders of Ancient Rome.

On this tour, some of the venues or parts of the venue may be subject to last-minute, unpredictable closures. When this occurs, we are happy to offer customers an extended tour in keeping with the advertised total length of the tour.

FAQs

  • At the end of the tour, will I be able to explore the Colosseum on my own?

If you wish to explore the Colosseum on your own after your tour, you should take our Express Colosseum Tour with Gladiator's Entrance and Special Arena Floor Access (with or without Breakfast). This gives you a guided tour of the Colosseum only. After the tour you can choose to either enjoy the skip-the-line entrance tickets to the Roman Forum (our guide would accompany you to enter but the visit is not guided) or stay inside the Colosseum without the guide.

For any other tour however, our tours follow a pattern of visit and you would not be able re-enter the Colosseum without waiting in the line and purchasing an additional ticket.

  • Do you offer the Colosseum tour in other languages?

Yes. English, German, Italian, French, Portuguese, Spanish. However, please note that this is only available for the 3hrs group/private tour.

  • How far in advance should I book my tour?

Our tours are very popular amongst visitors to Italy, Paris and London, so we suggest booking your place on them at your earliest convenience. If you are not ready to book yet and have some questions, we would be happy to help over the phone, via email and Live Chat. It is our mission to ensure that you get the most out of your visit!
