The Eiffel Tower stands at the crossroads of two incredible moments in history. Built for the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1889 it was to commemorate the centennial of the French Revolution under the emblem of progress, exploiting the new building materials and designs that came to characterize the Belle Époque.
The result was to surpass, surprise and even anger some due to the stark departure this work of engineering excellence represented in the Paris of the time. Down to the genius and tenacity of one man, Gustave Eiffel, and his company, the tower rose and has defined the city in countless ways ever since.
Visiting the Eiffel Tower is always a special moment because the experience changes from day to day, and hour to hour. Exceptional vistas from the second floor at over 377 feet allow for unforgettable perspectives on Paris’ most important monuments, at sunset the shadows lengthen under golden light as pink clouds drift by, and night you’ll see why they call this the ‘City of Light’.
Our Eiffel Tower tours include access up to the second level, which gives you a fabulous view of the city of Paris. They do not include access to the summit but our guide will show you where you can purchase a separate ticket to the summit directly at the venue at the end of the tour.
