Capital cities can be overwhelming at times. Often you can learn more about a country by leaving the city limits and following the road. Our Stonehenge tours from London take in in the likes of Windsor, Bath, and of course, Stonehenge. A day tour will bring you through the historical English landscape accompanied by our expert guides. With our planning expertise, we will make sure that you get to spend some quality time in each of these quite different locations.

Royal Windsor

First, you’ll meet your guide at Gloucester Road Tube Station and climb onboard our relaxing private coach. Leaving the city behind you’ll soon get close to Windsor. On route, your guide will fill you in on the importance of this boundary town which marked the entry to London for so long. Once you arrive in the town you’ll follow your guide along its meandering streets. You’ll get to see the typical black and white Tudor houses which look like they stepped out of a Shakespeare play. You will have enough free time in Windsor to wander at will or upgrade your tour to enter the Queen’s favorite castle. If you do you’ll find yourself following the audio guide along palatial corridors into luxurious state apartments decorated with paintings by Rembrandt and Rubens. Depending on the day you visit, you may be able to visit the gothic chapel on the grounds where English kings such as Henry VIII are buried and where Harry and Meghan were wed.

Roman Baths and Romance

Your next stop will be in Bath where you’ll learn about its Roman connections. Your guide will take you on a walking tour to explore this refined town with the thermal spas. You’ll stroll through the same charming streets that Jane Austen walked in the 19th century as she dreamed up her ground-breaking novels such as Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. You also have free time in Bath so you can visit the spas or the Jane Austen Museum. You may just like to browse through the artisanal shops and cafes of the town. Whichever you choose to do you’ll have time to relax before heading off again.

Stone-Age Stonehenge

Leaving Bath, your coach will power through the endless rolling fields of the English countryside to the sacred site of Stonehenge. This stone age circle which was built millennia before Christ has a newly opened visitor center full of fascinating facts and discoveries which shed light on the prehistoric people who lived here. Then it is time to jump onto one of the center shuttles which will take you over to stand among the raised stones which still raise so many questions. This is the perfect place for your guide to cover the many contradictory theories about how the circle was built, what it was used for and what it can tell us about English life today.

All with Our Expert Guides

From the beginning of the day, you will be shown an England that still exists outside the cosmopolitan hub that is London. This is an England of royal patronage, ritual sites and romantic genius that made a huge impact on the world. Returning to London on your comfortable coach you will hopefully understand some more about the fascinating drives for power which came out of this small island.
