Since 1948, Miami Zoo has been expanding and making space for new animals - the total is now over 3000, and they are spread across a variety of incredible exhibits just waiting to be discovered. From the Florida: Mission Everglades exhibit to the Amazon and Beyond exhibit, there are so many animals to see here. The Florida exhibit allows you to discover animals and plants native to the Sunshine State: the breathtaking Florida panther, American black bears, the iconic bald eagle and more - there is even an airboat ride, similar to that at the real Everglades!
At the Amazon exhibit, you’ll walk through different types of habitat from the cloud forest to the Amazon River basin. Here, you’ll spot native species such as fruit bats, jaguars, and giant river otters. Across the Australian, African and Asian exhibits there are even more animals to discover: clouded leopards, Western lowland gorillas, adorable koalas, pygmy hippos… you’ll struggle to pick a favorite, because they are all equally incredible species.
