Clos Montmartre Vineyard and Wine Tasting

Enjoy a guided visit of the only vineyard that still stands in Paris, followed by a tasting of their Clos Montmartre wine.

There are some hidden parts of the city of Paris that have not changed for generations. Montmartre is one of them, but you have to know where to go. Away from the crowds, you can still see the Montmartre of Picasso, Modigliani and Utrillo, where artists lived, drank, danced and painted, exchanging their paintings for food and art supplies.

Explore tiny alleyways, evocative cobbled streets and quiet squares, with a passionate local guide regaling you with stories of life there in times gone by. See the famous windmills, the two remaining at the Moulin de la Galette and of course the Moulin Rouge.

Pass by the tiny cabarets and restaurants made famous by the artists that frequented and also painted them. See the famous artists square, and the Sacré Coeur sitting high on top of the hill and offering amazing views across the city.

Montmartre was also home to Amelie Poulain, and you’ll see the café where she worked as well as other iconic locations from the film.

But did you know that Montmartre is also home to the oldest (and probably the most beautiful) vineyard in Paris, the Clos Montmartre? Wine is still made here (they make it in the local town hall!) but the vineyard is closed to the public. With City Wonders you can visit the vineyard, in the company of an expert local guide. Tour the vineyard and learn about how they grow the grapes and make the wine, then enjoy a tasting of the very wine grown on these slopes.

This is a privileged visit not afforded to many, in the heart of one of the most magical parts of Paris.

  • Can I take the tour with a bag? Is there a place I can check it in?

Because this tour is done outdoors there are no cloakrooms available. This is a walking tour and we recommend that our visitors do not bring big or heavy bags, as they will need to be carried throughout the tour.

  • How demanding is this walking tour?

Given that Montmartre is a valley-shaped location, the tour goes up and down the hill visiting the most iconic and historical places. Therefore, it is not recommended for people with reduced mobility or walking impediments. The pace of the tour is standard.

  • How will I recognize the guide?

Our City Wonders coordinators will be wearing blue polo shirts or jackets at the meeting point for easy recognition and holding a sign with the tour name.
