Rome Travel & Vatican Tour Update

Effective from April 24

All Vatican tours are operating as scheduled, with temporary adjustments due to official ceremonies and the upcoming Papal Conclave.

Now through April 26

Access to St. Peter’s Basilica is suspended. Affected tours are running as extended 3-hour guided visits of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel.

Saturday, April 26 – Papal Funeral

The Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and Basilica will be closed. All other Rome tours will continue where access is allowed.

From Monday, April 28 – Until the End of the Conclave

The Sistine Chapel will be closed. Tours will include approximately 2h40 inside the Museums, followed by a 20-minute walk to St. Peter’s Basilica via Porta Angelica. Guests will receive an introduction from the guide and a brochure for a self-guided Basilica visit.

Papal Audiences remains suspended through May 28 at least.

All visitors will be briefed on-site by our expert coordinators and guides. We continue to follow Vatican directives closely and remain fully prepared to adapt to any further changes.
